WOMEN MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Join us as we make a difference in our families, church, community and world through prayer and action.

 

WHO ARE WE?

The St. Dominic/St Francis Council of Catholic Women works hard to represent all Catholic women of both parishes, but sometimes we forget to tell you exactly what it is that we do. Here are a few of our recent activities.

  • Sponsored two Children’s Clothing and Toy Resales
  • Sponsored a Toy Resale
  • Donations made to St. Francis Parish
  • Donations made to St. Dominic Parish
  • Hosted receptions at St. Francis
  • Staffed the CCW Welcome Table at St. Francis
  • Presented a Health Fair at St. Dominic’s that was open to the entire community. FREE screenings and health information were given to over 125 people
  • Placed an ad in the Illinois Citizens for Life Program Book, which is part of their biggest fundraiser of the year
  • Collected pocket folders for the Will County Back to School Fair.

It looks like we’ve been busy! Could we use some help? Yes! You can be a part of it all. Join us at our next meeting and find out what’s next and how you can help.

MEMBERSHIP / MEETINGS

  • Open to all Catholic women
  • No dues

We meet on the third Thursday of the month at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Meetings are held from September to May (the December meeting is a Christmas dinner at a local restaurant).

The St. Dominic/St. Francis Council of Catholic Women does not meet during the summer months.

OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2010.

Great deals are everywhere on Ebay®,. Whether you want to buy something,  take part in an on-line auction or perhaps you have that one of a kind lamp from Aunt Ida you think is worth big $$$. The Council of Catholic Women will kick off their new year with our speaker for the night, John Chase. John will show us the way to navigate the way through Ebay’s website. The doors to St. Francis will open at 6:45 with the speaker starting promptly at 7:00 PM.  All are welcome to listen to John as he helps us find those great deals. Refreshments follow the speaker with a prayer service and short meeting. Please note that we have changed our meeting day to the third Thursday of the month.  First meeting will be on Thursday, September 16, 2010.   Next month,  game night. Keep watch for bulletin announcements for UNDY  Sunday!!
 

 

Time is a very valuable and limited resource for most women these days, but an evening spent with the Council of Catholic Women will not disappoint you.
